OU Intrasquad: Green Defeats White in Annual Exhibition

The Ohio wrestling team saw its first action of the 2008-09 season today in the annual Green & White scrimmage in The Convo Sunday afternoon. The Green team defeated the White team, 22-20, in a close contest. Head coach Joel Greenlee, now in his 12th year at the helm of the program, thought the intrasquad match-up served as a good starting point for the rest of the season.

The 2007-2008 season was a long one for head coach Joel Greenlee and the Bobcats, but it ended on a high note with a strong showing at the Mid-American Conference tournament where almost every wrestler out-performed his seed. The young Bobcats showed a great deal of improvement and walked away from their performance with a positive outlook for the upcoming season. It has been uttered before, in more important works, "a child shall lead them." This could be the unofficial theme for the Bobcats in the 2008-2009 season, with as many as eight freshmen competing for starting positions.
