Fifth-year Seniors Lead The Way for the Golden Flashes at the Body Bar

Fifth-year seniors Drew Lashaway (141) and Jermail Porter (285) won their respective weight class while seven others placed as Kent State finished second with 115 points at the 2008 Body Bar Tournament hosted by Cornell. The Broncos of Boise State squeaked by the Golden Flashes with 125 team points.

Kent State began the day with 32-10 and 30-12 wins over Tennessee-Chattanooga and Campbellsville. However, Northwestern crashed the party with a 21-8 win as the Golden Flashes finished 2-1 on the day at the 2008 Boilermaker Challenge hosted by Purdue.

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – Kent State will participate in their first dual meets of the year Saturday when they travel to Purdue to take part in the Boilermaker Challenge. The Golden Flashes will take on nationally-ranked Northwestern and UT-Chattanooga (receiving votes). Also, KSU will face Campbellsville, an NAIA power.

SOUTH EUCLID, Ohio — Notre Dame Wrestling came back with a bang on Saturday. The Falcons competed in the National Catholic Invitational (NCI) hosted by Mercyhurst College in Erie, Pa., and the Blue & White emerged with a team victory and four individual champions. NDC placed first amound six teams with a score of 128 points, more than 30 points clear of the host Mercyhurst Lakers who finished second in the event, with 95 points.

COLUMBUS, Ohio – After crowning six champions just a week ago at the Buffalo Open, the No. 4 Ohio State wrestling team returned to open tournament action Saturday at the Wolfpack Open and had four Buckeyes win their respective weight classes.

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State wrestling team will make its second stop of the open tournament season in Raleigh, N.C., for the N.C. State Open Saturday. The Buckeyes are coming off a successful run at the Buffalo Open last weekend and will look to continue gaining on their momentum as they prepare for the Buckeye Duals in 11 days.
